Last night, my car died for the second time in 2012. It's only March. A little upsetting?
In January I ended up paying over $1,400 to fix my car, Peeta. I was terrified that I would have to pay that much again to keep him. But honestly, I couldn't imagine doing anything else. I, like Katniss, was willing to give anything to take Peeta home alive with me
Am I in love with my car, legitimately, or am I in love with the idea that he and the fictional character he was named after stand for?
I really hope it's the second.
Peeta Mellark is one of those fictional characters that represents the ideal man (at least my ideal man!). He is kind, selfless, patient, and generous, but above all that, he knows who he is, what he believes, and is willing to die defending that. For example, one of my favorite parts of the film:
So I'm planning on writing a legitimate essay, maybe more like a research paper, about how amazing Peeta is (also one about Ron Weasley). I know that no one cares about this as much as I do, but as long as I'm analyzing something so intensely, I might as well make it academic.
But the good news is, my mechanic fixed Peeta in one day, and since the problem was a result of something that didn't get completely fixed in January, he didn't charge me anything. Holla for honest mechanics!!
(Disclaimer for anyone who doesn't know me very well who might read this: I'm not in love with my car, although I am pretty attached to it. I know it's an it, not a he, and that it doesn't "stand" for anything. I just like symbols and personification.)

Thank you for reminding me how great Peeta is! :) I already knew, but the daily reminder is always preferred. Thanks for the clip too!! Hopefully your car will get better soon, and magically on its own too!
I agree with this post.
