1. I went out on a few dates with this crazy kid, Austin Lovell. We actually have hung out every single day since October 10th (it all started with a Star Wars marathon). Our first date was on October 17th, to a concert at school (Guitars Unplugged). Or second was the next weekend to a haunted house (his trick to get me to hold his hand since heretofore I had been reluctant to do so), and finally on Halloween, we decided to date exclusively. That night we dressed up as Fred Weasley and Bellatrix LeStrange (not a couple, but a common theme) and went to the Halloween concert on campus, then down to his family's ranch in Ririe, Idaho, to ride 4-wheelers and watch scary movies and just hang out with a bunch of other friends. Now we've been dating for a month, obviously, and it's gone well so far. More work than I expected, but worth it.
2. School has been ridiculous. I'm taking this heinous class, Rhetorical Studies, which wouldn't be so bad if my teacher was teaching what the University wants him to teach. He think that's all nonsense so instead he is teaching in the classical Roman style, which wouldn't be so bad, except that we still have to complete the curriculum the school has set down for us, so we are left to do that completely on our own, so it's pretty much like taking two classes: one in class in which we analyze ancient literature, and the other ourside of class where we have to read and write everything the school has given in its curriculum. Because of that I am slacking in all of my other classes and am looking forward to my worst GPA ever.
3. My birthday was on the 10th, and we had a rock star themed party. My roommates made me a guitar shaped cake and we played Rock Band for almost 4 hours. I sang the whole time. It was lovely.
4. As part of my psychology class, we made goals for this semester, and mine was to go to the temple every week. So I've gone to the temple every week this month. :)
5. Austin and I went to Logan over Nov 6-7 to see an Aggies basketball game with Brynn and Jill. It was lovely. We were able to hang out with Amanda and Matt Laurendeau which was lovely, as always, and the basketball was amazing as always.
6. Austin took me "power-kiting." He and his brothers are really into it; basically you have a kite that is nearly the size of a parasail, and it pulls you around and lifts you off the ground...it was pretty exciting but also a little scary. In warmer weather I think I'd like it a lot more. :)
7. Austin also came home with me for Thanksgiving. It was pretty intense, and very little sleep was involved. We got to see a lot of friends that I haven't seen for a long time, mainly Larina Baxter who just got back from her mission in Mississippi, and Mark Shepard, my favorite guy friend of all time, who just got home from Iraq about two months ago. We saw 2012 which was a crazy intense movie, and Doubt, and I was the only one who liked it. We played a lot of Rock Band, and I got 99% singing on expert level on the song "Our Truth" by Lacuna Coil! It was a pretty happy moment. Also my friend Lloyd from London has been visiting the States for a few weeks, so we got to spend Friday morning with him, which was very exciting.
It was a great November. I'm a fan.
