So tonight with my roommate Laura, my fhe brothers Thomas and Travis, some girls in my Relief Society Karen, Rebecca, and Megan, and some other friends and I went stadium singing (we gather under the stadium and sing hymns for half an hour). It was beautiful to hear the Star Spangled Banner sung by about a hundred students. But it was "America the Beautiful" that really hit me.
I just want to point out some lines:
Crown thy good with brotherhood
Confirm thy soul in self-control
Till all success be nobleness
I just wish more Americans realized what these words meant.
I feel really grateful to live and have grown up in a country that is built on ideals of equality and tolerance. All I fear is that we are forgetting that.
